Välillä sitä ei ole tyytyväinen lopputulokseen. Lanka ei toimi valitussa mallissa tai se käyttäytyy eri tavalla kuin kuvitteli. Tai sitten lanka ei riitä. Tai kenties sitä ei vain välillä osaa päättää mitä haluaa. Hankin muutama vuosi sitten kaksi vyyhtiä Bijou Basin Ranchin Bijou Spun Tibetan Dream (väri 22-022) -lankaa ihan vain sen takia, että halusin kokeilla jakkihärästä tehtyä lankaa (85% jakkia, 15% nylon). Ja lanka onkin ihanan pehmeää ja miellyttävä neuloa, mutta en ole ollut tyyväinen huivimalli valintoihini.
Ensiksi tein röyhelöhuivin lyhennetyillä kerroksilla. Katselin valmista huivia jonkin aikaa ja lopulta totesin, että tuskin tulen sitä käyttämään. Eli purkuun...
Sometimes you just aren't satisfied with the look of your projects. Maybe the yarn doesn't suit to the pattern or the yarn just behaves differently than you expected. Or maybe you don't have enough yarn to finish the project. Or maybe you just can't make up your mind.
Few years ago I bought two skeins for Bijou Spun Tibetan Dream yarn by Bijou Basin Ranch (color 22-022) because I wanted to try yarn made of yak (85% yak down, 15% nylon). The yarn is lovely soft and very easy to knit but I haven't been satisfied with my choices of scarf patterns.

Next I decided to try crocheting crocodile stitches. Yarn works extremely well in this pattern but I noticed that you can't create big enough scarf from two skeins. I also concluded that most likely I wouldn't use it. So unravel also this experiment...
Suuri Käsityö 1/2015 lehdessä oli ohje Veera Välimäen palmikkokauluriin, josta halusin kokeilla joustineulepalmikkoa (palmikko samanlainen nurjalla ja oikealla puolella). Ohjeessa oli myös kaksivärisiä ainaoikein raitoja, mutta ne jätin pois. Harkitsin kyllä hetken, että olisin tehnyt ainaoikein alueet pelkällä violetilla, mutta olen tyytyväinen etten niitä kuitenkaan lisännyt. Kolmannella kerralla tuli sitten viimeinkin itseä miellyttävä lopputulos. Voin sanoa, että tähän kauluriin olen erittäin tyytyväinen ja varmasti tulee käytettyä ensi talvena. Tätä en pura.
There was cable cowl pattern by Veera Välimäki on Suuri Käsityö 1/2015 -magazine and I liked the rib cable (cable looks the same on both knit and purl sides). In the pattern was also garter stitch sections with two colors but I left them out. For a while I considered doing garter stitch sections with violet yarn but I'm happy that at the end I didn't. Finally, with the third try, I was able to create cowl that pleases me. I like this cowl very much and most certainly I'll wear it next winter. This I won't unravel.
